COMMUNITY SHELLFISH FARMS

Working together to restore clean water and
ensure the health and productivity of Puget Sound tidelands.

Pollution has closed or restricted harvests on 20 percent of Washington state's commercial shellfish beds.  That's about 30,000 closed or restricted acres.  Growers estimate that Washington could double its production of oysters, clams and mussels in Puget Sound if closed beds were re-opened.
